Will Bernard, John Medeski, Andy Hess, Stanton Moore

Two-time, Grammy-nominated guitarist Will Bernard delivers a wildly inventive approach to funk with his joyously grooving Blue Plate Special band featuring keyboardist John Medeski (of Medeski, Martin & Wood fame), bassist Andy Hess and Galactic drummer Stanton Moore. A product of Berkeley High’s vaunted jazz program, Bernard has cut a wide stylistic path across the Bay Area music scene for more than two decades. A key member of Peter Apfelbaum and Jai Uttal’s pioneering world jazz bands, he gained widespread notice on a national level with his groovalicious combo Motherbug and with T.J. Kirk, a funk-powered, Grammy® award-nominated cooperative starring fellow guitar-slinger Charlie Hunter.
