Sister to Sister Dallas Women's Heart Health Fair
The bad news: Approximately 42.7 million U.S. women – that’s one in three – have some form of cardiovascular disease. The good news: By learning personal risk factors and discovering heart-healthy lifestyle changes, women can reduce their heart disease risk up to 82 percent. So take a step toward reversing your risk, and head to the fifth annual Dallas Women’s Heart Health Fair presented by the Sister to Sister Foundation.
Take advantage of FREE 15-minute comprehensive heart screenings (cholesterol and triglycerides, blood glucose levels, blood pressure, Body Mass Index, waist circumference, and review of family health history) with on-the-spot results and one-on-one counseling with a licensed professional. PLEASE NOTE: HEART SCREENINGS ARE FOR WOMEN AGES 18 AND UP (the first 1,500 people will be screened).
Enjoy ongoing healthy cooking demos and stress-reduction workshops, take a fitness class, browse the various exhibitor booths and register for raffles and giveaways. The Heart Health Fair is free and open to the public. Parking is also free at Gate 2 (Haskell Ave. and Parry Ave.), Gate 4 (First Ave. and Parry Ave.) and Gate 5 (Grand Ave. and Robert B. Cullum Blvd.).
