Jeffrey East

Having been born in 1983 may make Jeffrey East seem a little too young to most, to know anything about professional song writing. But when you consider that in just the last two years, this young man has experienced more “life” than most do by the age of 50, it is no wonder he is fast becoming recognized in Nashville music circles as a force to be reckoned with. Jeffrey began his love for music while still in the womb. His family had a traditional country band in Texas and on the very day Jeffrey was scheduled to enter the world, his mother was singing with the rest of the band on-stage. Born into a song writer’s family, it was not long before Jeffrey was breaking out of his play-pen to crawl on-stage where the action was. And when it became apparent there was no holding this kid back, he was allowed to hold a mandolin and sing before audiences at the age of 3. Fast forward to 2003… A very famous Nashville song-writer once said, “You need to have your heart broke real good before you can sing and write country music”. Fortunately for the world, that happened to Jeffrey. It was not long before he was cranking out songs with subjects of love, loss, heartbreak and healing like no other 20-year-old. But in the summer of 2005, Jeffrey would be hit with the biggest heartbreak of his life, the diagnosis of terminal cancer in his father, a master of the written word in his own right, and a powerful source of love, strength and encouragement to Jeffrey. Over the next two years, Jeffrey would have “life” hit him right in the face. During this 2 year roller coaster ride of emotions, Jeffrey was introduced to successful songwriter, Harley Allen, 2005 BMI Songwriter of the Year. Harley immediately recognized the talent that was embodied in this very young man and offered Jeffrey the opportunity to write professionally for Harley Allen Music. Since that time, Jeffrey has been in and out of the studio, stockpiling demo after demo of original songs for the company. He has made 2 guest appearances at the world famous Bluebird Café, a hub for some of the most successful songwriters in the business and is in the process of working on an artist project to be pitched to record labels. Although he is an accomplished pianist, these days you will find Jeffrey spending most of his time with guitar, paper and pen. He may be a young man in age but Jeffrey is what most would call an old-soul in spirit, something that is recognized without a doubt in his writing.
