K'NEX: Building Thrill Rides
The science, math and technology behind exciting amusement park rides-
On a recent amusement park visit, we discovered that while our rapidly
aging stomachs can no longer handle Tilt-A-Whirls and other such
vomit-inducing "chaotic motion" rides, our kid-at-heart brains still
love, love, love roller coasters. We could--and did--ride them all day.
You can't actually partake in any thrill rides at this heavily
corporate-sponsored Maryland Science Center exhibit, but you can build
models of them (with K'NEX-brand toys, of course), and maybe you'll
even learn some of the physics and math behind coasters, Ferris wheels,
etc. As for us, we'll be in line for the Phoenix.
